WHAT IS SENIORNET?

SeniorNet is a not-for profit organization founded to teach computer skills to older adults (50 or over) in an understandable, enjoyable and friendly way. Founded in 1986, SeniorNet Learning Centers are located throughout the United States and are now reaching into other countries.

Membership in the national organization entitles you to take classes at any SeniorNet Center throughout the country.  The Palatine SeniorNet Learning Center (PSNLC) is sponsored by the Palatine Township Senior Citizens Council.

The Palatine SeniorNet Learning Center offers a wide variety of classes. . .

  • Computer Basics for the "starting from scratch" novice.

  • Introduction to Computers for most beginners -- those who can effectively use a mouse and have some understanding of computer terminology.

  • Advanced classes like Windows Operating System, Word Processing, Spreadsheet, Database, Going Online, Graphics classes, Digital Camera, Seasonal Holiday Classes and new classes from time to time.

  • Workshops - One-day (2 hours) or two-day (4 hours) classes which cover "what you've always wanted to know, but were afraid to ask!"

To get on the mailing list for upcoming classes, call (847) 991-1112, Ext. 233 and leave your name and address.

Classes are held at 580 First Bank Drive in the Community Consolidated School District 15 Administration Building.
