The registration date for trips in the July - Sept. 2018 Happenings is  Wed., June 20 (NEW DAY).  Registration in person will be handled first.  Members can register by phone beginning at 12 p.m.  Members can register one other member at the time they register.

Non-Members may register for trips the Tuesday following member registration.

One Day Trips

Soldier Field - Chicago - Come experience both the history & modern day journey of Soldier Field Stadium.  After the tour we will have lunch at Ditka’s in Oak Brook.  The meal is served family style & includes salad, chicken piccata, vodka pasta Florentine & dessert.  Lots of walking

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof - Drury Lane, Oak Brook - In the heat of the south under the gaze of patriarch Big Daddy, the expectations of marriage & family spoil.  A birthday party brings a family’s skeleton to the surface.  Lunch choice at registration is sautéed tilapia or bistro steak & all the sides, plus dessert.

Morton Arboretum - Lisle, IL - We will be enjoying a day at the Arboretum.  You can walk the trails, take a tram ride or just sit and relax in the gardens.  This is not a guided tour, it is an “on your own” day to explore the park. Lots of walking

Grease - Fireside Theatre, Ft. Atkinson, WI - Let’s go back to 1950 - duck-tailed hair, hot-rodding & bobby socks - and meet Danny Zuko & Sandy Dumbroski. Enjoy the songs from the movie like “Summer Nights” & “Greased Lightnin”.  Lunch is corn chowder, fresh bread, chicken & ribs, lemon chess pie & beverage.  Moderate walking

Galena & Dubuque - Join us for another fall day with friends in the Galena Territories.  First we will relax with a river Cruise & lunch on the American Lady in Dubuque.  Then we will enjoy some free time in downtown Galena.  Take in the fall colors near the river, walk the town & grab a snack for the ride home.

East Troy Train & Lunch - East Troy, WI - We will travel to East Troy & experience the history of the rails & visit a time when life was a little simplier.  After the train ride we will enjoy lunch at Ivan’s on the Square.  Lunch choices at registration: cup of soup with a ham & cheese croissant, a Cobb Salad or just a chicken sandwich.  Moderate walking

LL Bean & Busse Woods Trips

Kayaking, Tues., Aug. 14, 9am - Noon
Practice the skills of this wonderful water sport.

Archery, Tues., Sept. 25, 9am - Noon
This outdoor skill can be enjoyed by all ages, especially adults.

Cost for either activity:  $33 Members, $38 Non-Members.

Overnight Trips

French Lick Resort, IN

  • Mon., Sept. 17 - Thurs. Sept. 20
  • $699 per person double occupany, $899 single
  • $150 deposit due at time of registration; final payment due July 20

On our way to the resort we get to experience a tour at the Indy 500.  We will be staying 3 nights at the French Lick Resort.  We have 6 meals included with this trip:  3 breakfast at the Resort & 3 dinners (2 at the resort & 1 in Louisville).  Our trip in the area will include:  train ride, free time at French Lick & time to discover Baden Hotel via trolley, or just enjoy French Lick’s many amenities [pool, spa, casino ($10 voucher), etc].  Then we enjoy a day in Louisville, KY, visiting 3 museums, lunch on your own with free time & then dinner before heading back to French Lick.  As we depart for home we will enjoy a couple fun surprise stops along the way.   A wonderful way to enjoy the fall – join us!  

Green Bay for the Holidays

  • Thurs. Dec. 6 - Fri. Dec. 7
  • Cost: $193 per person double occupancy, $248 single

Going to Radisson hotel & Oneida Casino; tour the following places in Green Bay for the holiday decorations & charm:  Hazelwood Historic House, Natl. Railroad Museum, plus wine tasting at Captains Walk Winery.  Then on our way home a sweet treat stop at Seroogy’s Candy store and holiday shopping at the Oshkosh Outlet Mall.  You will also receive $20 casino free play.  The hotel is giving us a $10 food voucher, complimentary drink coupon, buy one get one free drink and free breakfast

Any cancellation could be subject to a $25 administration fee.  Once we have made final payments for any trip, we cannot refund your money
